William Thomas Ombaka Oburu
We are saddened to announce the death of William Thomas Ombaka
Oburu, formerly marketing director, International and Product Marketing, Aldar
Development, United Arab Emirates on August 2, 2023 at the Aga Khan Hospital,
Nairobi.
The later William Thomas Ombaka Oburu was son of Arrow Solomon
Oburu and Peres Oburu of Wanyama, Rusinga Island, Homa Bay County.
He was the beloved husband of Juliet Oburu, and doting father of
Lucas and Neema (Jojo).
The late William Oburu was brother of Millicent Onyonyi, Paul
Oburu, Pamella Ager, Dr. Ezekiel Oburu, Dr. Peter Oburu and Joan Oburu-Okundi.
He was a grandson of the late Mzee Helekiah Oburu, Mama Rispa
Ombaka Oburu and the late Selina Aura Oburu, all of Rusinga Island.
He was uncle of Diana and Dr. Basil Amuzu-Sefordzi, Amy Onyonyi,
Paul Oburu Jr., Isaiah Oburu, limns
Ager, Amani Oburu, Sifa Oburu, Tumaini Oburu, Sarah Oburu, Joseph Oburu, Kiki
Okundi, Subira Okundi, Troy Mugele, Jenealle Belo, Ryan Mwamburi, Tendai Kwame
and Jasmine Akinyi.
He was son-in-law of Lucas Oluoch and Rebecca Oluoch of Alego
Komenya, and brother-in-law of Kennedy Onyonyi, Pauline Oburu, Boniface Ager,
Loise Oburu, Jennifer Oburu, Barry Okundi, Felix Oluoch, Belinda Oluoch,
Lynette Oluoch, Ruth Oluoch and Andrew Oluoch.
He was nephew of the late Ezekiel Oburu, Walumbe Oburu, the late
Samuel Onyango, the late George Oluoch, Dr. Gilbert Oburu, Peter Oburu, Wilfred
Ochola and Musa Ochola, among others.
The funeral service was held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at
Nairobi Central SDA Church.
The interment at the family home in Wanyama, Rusinga Island on
Friday, August 11, 2023.
